Declutter To Vacuum

Vacuuming is one way to get a start on organizing your home.  A lot of good stuff is on the floor; clothing, books, toys, newspapers (there are other uses for newspapers than just reading  but that’s for another blog), shoes, baskets - you see where I’m going with this.

It all has to be picked up so you can see the floor to vac it.  It’s a two-part chore; pick up then vacuum.  The picking up part is really easy with the four box method.

The second part is vacuuming.  If you’re like me vacuuming is a chore.  I've found a wonderful gadget, iRobot’s Roomba.  It is a vacuum bot, it cleans my hardwood and tile floors as well as carpet.  It’s a small circular, flatish disk that roves around on your floors picking stuff up out of the carpet you didn’t know was there.  It won’t eat lamp cords or rug fringe and it has a rubber ring around it so it won’t scratch anything.  I named mine Robbie (an homage to the Lost In Space TV show).  I recently saw it at COSTCO and it’s available online.

Anyone have a gadget to share?  I love gadgets!
